Connecting people with a life that counts for eternity by building disciples that go and change lives.
Life Groups

What are LifeGroups?

A LifeGroup is a group of 8-14 people led by trained leaders at Central who gather in homes, either weekly or every other week to connect more deeply with God and with each other.

Why join a LifeGroup?

LifeGroups are really about “doing life together.” It’s why people go to church, right? Each of us desires church to be an experience in which we deepen our relationship with Christ and where we find life-giving relationships with his people. A LifeGroup provides an environment where friendships can go deeper through open and honest sharing and caring, and we can grow through discussion and application of Biblical truths. At Central LifeGroups provide the primary connecting point into the community of our church.

How do I join a LifeGroup?

The simplest means of joining a LifeGroup is to log on to Central’s webpage and from there move to the LifeGroups page where you will find a link to browse our existing groups. You can even filter the groups by location in town, age of children, topic, etc. Once you have one or more groups you are interested in simply click on the “E-mail Leader” link to ask the one or more Leaders for more information and how to get plugged into their group.

You can also e-mail Pastor Gordon Bates at gordon.bates@centralsf.org or call at 336-3378, ext. 5508

When and where do LifeGroups meet?

LifeGroups meet in three sessions of 10-12 weeks each year with natural breaks between sessions and the summer months off. They can meet any time of the week and meet in members’ homes around the area.

What do LifeGroups use to study?

LifeGroups focus two out of three sessions on sermon-based curriculum. A study guide is provided to each group leader on Sundays after the sermon and the group then follows that guide. This provides an opportunity to interact with the message in a small group setting and to consider how the truths apply in each person’s life. It also gives a church wide focus over those sessions.

What about children at LifeGroups?

Children are welcome to be a part of the LifeGroup gatherings.  Our primary purpose in LifeGroups is relational and kids contribute in a big way to that community. It is not our intention that joining a LifeGroup means paying for a babysitter each time. It may take some creative ways of helping kids during the teaching time but each group will decide what is best for them.
