Parenting is tougher today than ever. 50 percent of children are raised in single-parent homes today. Children are pressured to experiment with drugs, alcohol and sex at earlier ages than ever. About 70 percent of youth between the ages of 18 and 28 drop out of church completely.

So what is the answer? Biblical parenting. What does the Bible say about parenting? Today we are going to discuss some biblical principles for parenting that will challenge what our culture says about parenting. These principles will not only help parents, but will strengthen you personally in your walk with Christ!

Isn’t it interesting that with all the wonderful and unique ways we can make an impact into the lives of our children, rarely do we talk about the process of parental discipleship. It’s not that we don’t recognize the value of discipleship in a general sense and what that may look like, it’s often the “how to” that gets overlooked. Should parents be the primary disciples of their children?

If we agree, then what? My prayer for us today is that we uncover the biblical story laid out by Christ’s words and actions that translate into the lives of our kids. Today let’s uncover not only “the what,” but also the “how.”

Happy Easter Sunday! We are so glad you are with us today at Central. Our desire is that you realize the hope for a changed life that comes through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Today’s Easter sermon title is “Real. Life. Change.”

In court, the only way truth is proven is through evidence. When it comes to Jesus’ resurrection, evidence rules. When Peter and John heard from the women who had visited the tomb that Jesus was risen from the dead, they didn’t believe them. They didn’t just take their word for it, but wanted evidence. When they looked at the grave clothes in the tomb it changed their perspective. What was so convincing about the grave clothes?

I wish I could convince you with my words that the resurrection is true. Unfortunately I can’t. God must do that. But even though my words can’t convince you, my life can! When people undergo real life change, they become proof of the resurrection. Your life tells a story. Is it a story of life or death?
