Letter from Pastor Jeff
Easter: Signed. Sealed. Delivered!
This year, as we reflect on what Easter means this year, we’ll take a closer look at three aspects of Christ’s death and resurrection:
Signed (April 13-14): Throughout the Old Testament, God created “signs” to point to the cross well beforehand. One significant sign was the Passover event. It graphically portrayed the story of Jesus, God’s lamb, who would be sacrificed to take away the sins of the world. This event delivered the people of Israel from the plague of death while still in Egypt. In the same way, Jesus delivered humanity from the power of sin and death when he died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins.
Sealed (April 19): On Good Friday, the crucified Jesus was sealed in the tomb. The Messiah was dead and the hope of redemption and resurrection was hanging in the balance.
Delivered (April 20-21): On Easter morning, Jesus rose from the grave. He was delivered from death and now offers us the opportunity to be delivered from sin and death as well.
We’re excited to have you here for Easter at Central. It’s going to be a powerful, uplifting weekend, so we hope you invite your family and friends to celebrate with us!
