Annie grew up in Rutherford, New Jersey, and graduated from Kean University. She and her husband Deane have three children.

“My class was sitting on the rug in a circle. I was handing out shakers to play with while we sang songs. When my back was turned, one of my little preschoolers had taken off all her clothes and was sitting on the carpet naked. None of her classmates even flinched.”
