Accounting Assistant

Accounting Assistant
Summary:
The Accounting Assistant provides accounts payable and general ledger support on a part-time basis. Generally expected to work up to 20-25 hours per week Monday through Thursday during normal business office hours. This position does not have benefits.
Core Competencies:
- Accounts payable processing and data entry
- Distribute invoices to appropriate department for approval
- Code, review and enter invoices into accounting software
- Credit card processing and recording of charges
- Prepare monthly sales tax report
- Prior accounts payable experience preferred, along with working in accounting software
- Computer experience in Google Suite and Excel helpful
- Compile and check source documents, such as vouchers, invoices, purchase orders, and cash receipts, for completeness and accurac
Job Requirements:
- Background in accounts payable or data entry helpful
- Comfortable working in a digital environment
- Humility (putting the needs of Church and congregation above personal ambitions)
- Hunger (driven to serve and contribute to the Church’s mission)
- People Smarts (effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others in diverse community)
Staff Relationships:
- The Accounting Assistant is part of the Finance Team.
- The Accounting Assistant reports directly to the Finance Director and works alongside the Financial Analyst.
