Baptism

Why should I get baptized?

At Central, we believe that baptism is an important step in the life of a believer. Baptism is an outward expression of an inward change, publicly declaring what Jesus has already done in your life. It’s a way of declaring to the world your love for and allegiance to Christ.

To learn more about our beliefs and practice of believer's baptism, we invite you to listen to the sermon The Wonder of Water Baptism from February 2025.

Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:19

Three Baptism Settings

Central has three different settings for baptism in 2025. You must attend a baptism class and complete a baptism application before getting baptized at Central Church.

In a Weekend Service

NEXT DATE: May 24-25

We’ll celebrate baptisms during a regular Saturday or Sunday weekend service. We’ll play a video recording of your testimony on screen, then you’ll get baptized during worship. Baptisms will be followed by a sermon from a pastor on our teaching team. A weekend service lasts around 60 minutes.

At a Baptism Celebration

NEXT DATE: March 23 at 3pm

Baptism celebrations happen on a Sunday afternoon a few times per year. You’ll share a short testimony on a mic, then get baptized alongside others making this same step of faith. The congregation worships, hears a short encouraging word about baptism, and celebrates each baptism together. A baptism celebration service lasts around 90 minutes.

After A Sunday Service

NEXT DATE: June 29 at 12:15pm

Depending on the weather, baptism tanks will be set up either in Grand Central or under the awning outside of the Grand Central doors. You’ll share a short testimony on a mic of how Jesus changed your life and get baptized in front of those who choose to stay after the 11:15am service. The event will last around 30-45 minutes.
