What ministry (or ministries) are you most involved with at Central?
Frontline ministry
How did God show up in your life in the last 12 months?
The last 12 months have really been quite a journey. After going through Woven's Journey Bible study and writing out our testimonies, it really made me realize that I am not the person I use to be. Learning to know myself better, as my past caused me to lose who I was and trying to be everything others wanted me to be. My prayer has always to be able to share my testimony and help others that are still stuck in that lifestyle of homosexuality, drugs, alcohol. God's timing is not our timing and He was preparing me. He is now opening doors to share my testimony and help others navigate through this lifestyle. I am so thankful for these opportunities and pray the doors keep opening.
How do you live differently knowing God is alive & active in your life?
The last 13 years has been a journey coming out of the gay lifestyle along with alcohol and drug abuse. I was in this lifestyle for 30 years so it has been quite the journey. God has made Himself alive in my life, changing me from the inside out. Turning my life over to Him completely has removed the past desires and more of a desire to follow Him and live an obedient life. I can feel His Holy Spirit working in me and want to do whatever He has planned for my life.
How did you share the love of Jesus this year with someone who doesn't know Christ?
God has been opening more opportunities to share my testimony and help those who are seeking a closer walk with the Lord or helping others understand their loved ones or friends who are gay or transgender. How to love these people and show them Jesus through not condoning the sin, but to turn them toward Jesus who can take those desires from them. This has been my prayer for a long time and now He is opening up opportunities to share with others, and I give Him all the glory and honor to lift up His name.
Anything else you'd like to share about your story or testimony?
Since Central has become my home church, I just want to acknowledge my gratitude for the support, love, and acceptance I feel. The word is preached and not compromised in order to reach a lost world for Christ. Equipping the congregation to go out and be the church in our relational world. I love my church and look forward to more ways of serving and sharing my testimony.
