Children’s Ministry Pastor

Summary:

Central believes that a healthy, thriving children’s ministry is important to reaching and growing children and their families. Our church desires an individual who wants to take a growing children’s ministry to a new level of excellence. The Children’s Ministry Pastor (CMP) will lead our current children’s team and collaborate extensively with our Next Gen team, giving shape to an overall philosophy of developing the emerging generations to promote growing ownership in their faith and the local church.

The right candidate will have a focused and contagious passion for seeing kids and families come to know Jesus and follow him. This individual will also understand that volunteers are the lifeblood of children’s ministry. He or she will know how to work within a multilevel structure of volunteers and also how to implement new systems to help our volunteers flourish. The right candidate will be able to come alongside our great children’s ministry team to lead them humbly and to help develop the team’s strengths.

Central sees the extreme importance of this role and plans to support the right candidate significantly.

Time Commitment and Relationship:

This is a full-time ministry position that qualifies for benefits. The CMP will report to the Next Gen Lead, will work alongside and oversee the children’s ministry staff, and be a part of the Next Gen team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Exemplify a passion for seeing kids and their families come to know Jesus and follow him.
  • Be the primary teacher on the weekend for our elementary students
  • Create a contagious volunteer culture that people want to be a part of through various pieces of training, encouragement, and appreciation.
  • Bring our children’s ministry to a new level of excellence through thoughtful strategy, oversight, and organization with our volunteers and programming.
  • Align, equip, and inspire children’s ministry staff under a unified vision.
  • Oversee children’s ministry staff through reviews, planning, and empowering them to use their gifts to serve the ministry well.
  • Participate and give shape to our Next Gen team (birth to young adults) and our overall goal of reaching the emerging generations.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children and their parents in a children’s ministry, camp ministry, or educational setting
    • Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in a church setting of 1000+ in weekly attendance
  • Experience leading staff and multiple levels of volunteers
  • High level of problem-solving abilities among families and volunteers
  • Strong interpersonal skills with children and parents, as well as student and adult volunteers
  • A high level of initiative and ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision
  • Embrace and embody the mission, vision, and staff values of Central, faithfully attend service and support it financially.

Early Childhood Director

Summary:

Central believes that a healthy, thriving children’s ministry is important to reaching and growing children and their families. Our church desires an individual who will help our Kid Central team take a growing children’s ministry to a new level of excellence. 

The right candidate will have a focused and contagious passion for seeing kids and families come to know Jesus and follow him. This individual will also understand that volunteers are the lifeblood of children’s ministry. He or she will know how to work within a multilevel structure of volunteers helping to create a contagious volunteer culture through recruitment, training, and appreciation. and also how to implement new systems to help our volunteers flourish. 

Time Commitment and Relationship:

This is a full-time position. We are more interested in finding the right person for this position.  The Early Childhood Director (ECD) will report to the Children’s Pastor.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides a strategy for recruitment, oversight, organization of and communication with volunteers in children’s ministry (3 years old-kindergarten) with the goal of weekly consistency.
  • Present and lead on Sundays while making attendance to worship with their family a priority. 
  • Assist in creating a welcoming and engaging environment for children and families.
  • Assist in recruiting, growing, and sustaining a large volunteer base for special programming and events for Kid Central.
  • Assist in recruiting and organizing a creative team of volunteers for large group programming. (3 years old-kindergarten)
  • Collaborate with the Kid Central team to creatively equip volunteers with new skills to minister to children and their families in a variety of ways. 
  • Help plan/lead special events such as camps, summer events, holiday events, and community outreach for Kid Central.
  • Assist with curriculum development. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Personal faith in Jesus Christ and agreement with Central’s Statement of Faith. 
  • Passion for reaching/growing children in Christ and equipping/encouraging parents and caregivers to do the same. 
  • Degree in Children’s Ministry, Education, or other relevant degree preferred.
  • Experience working with children and their parents in a Children’s Ministry, camp ministries, or educational setting.
  • Ability to manage multiple levels of volunteers.
  • High level of problem-solving abilities among families and volunteers with he ability to pivot quickly according to the needs of a fast paced ministry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with children and their parents as well as both student and adult volunteers.
  • Willingness to serve with a positive attitude. Has a cooperative, healthy, and motivating relationship with co-workers, volunteers, parents, and children.
  • Excellence in written/verbal communication skills.
  • A high level of initiative and ability to work independently; ability to perform duties with minimal direction and supervision to complete a task within assigned deadlines.
  • Ability to anticipate needs, be highly organized, pay attention to detail, multi-task, and be an efficient time manager.
  • Ability to teach in large group settings, as needed. 
  • Ability to recruit, equip, encourage volunteers.
  • Member, or willing to become a member, of Central Church.
  • Ability to embrace and embody the mission, vision and distinctiveness of Central.
  • Attendance during weekend service, meetings, and other events determined by the Children’s Pastor and NextGen Lead.  
  • Maintain regular weekday office hours. 
  • Competence in all related church software and database systems.

Student Ministry Pastor

Summary:

Central Church is looking for a high capacity and highly collaborative Student Ministry Pastor. This person must lead by example with character, competency, and passion for students. LifeGroups are at the core of what Student Central is passionate about and the Middle School Pastor (MSP) will need to equip, encourage, recruit and retain a team of 200+ adult volunteers along with the other student ministry pastors. He or she will also need to work closely with the other student ministry pastors providing fresh eyes for “what could be” or “what if” for student ministry. Lastly, this person should have strong relational abilities with students and adult leaders.

Time Commitment and Relationship:

This is a full-time position that qualifies for benefits. The MSP will serve as part of the Student Central Ministry Staff and will serve under the supervision of the Next Gen Lead who also serves as one of the student pastors.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead a volunteer team structure that requires clear communication, encouragement, training, and appreciation.
  • Work collaboratively with the current Middle School Pastor to plan and execute biblically accurate, creative, meaningful, and high-energy Wednesday nights. 
  • Assist in creating weekly LifeGroup curriculum and guides for leaders.
  • Collaborate in creating and managing a student ministry calendar.
  • Lead summer activities and trips.
  • Large Group teaching to 400+ middle and high school students.

Qualifications

  • Personal faith in Jesus Christ and agreement with Central’s Statement of Faith. 
  • A healthy marriage and family (if married). 
  • A passion for middle school students (6th-8th grade).
  • At least 2 years of related experience with students or church ministry.
  • Ministry or work experience in a multi-staff environment.
  • Ability to teach in large venues (400+) is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work and collaborate in team environments.
  • Multi-tasking abilities, strong organizational skills, and ability to effectively communicate clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop and train a large team of volunteers (200+).
  • Willingness to step into uncomfortable moments and conversations with students, leaders, and parents.

Music Director

Southwest Campus

Act as the Music Director (MD) for Central Church weekly programming, and develop volunteer musicians from Students to Adults. A team-minded and creative individual who models initiative is vital as they play a prominent role in our Worship Team

Time Commitment and Relationship
This is a part-time position (20 hours a week). The person fulfilling this role would report directly to the Worship Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and train both NEW volunteer musicians and CURRENT volunteer musicians at Central Church.
  • Create personalized development plans to equip volunteers in their own growth journey.
  • Work alongside the Worship Director to create a “growth path” that helps identify practical next steps for every musician.
  • Report to the Worship Director for overall vision, direction, weekly tasks, meetings, etc.
  • Plan and facilitate musician workshops. 
  • Lead and play on weekend teams in an MD role (Worship Leader role as needed depending on the candidate).
  • Train and equip volunteer MD’s.
  • Be a part of the Worship Programming Team.
  • Weekly track development for Weekend gatherings. 

 

An Ideal Candidate

  • “Bleeds development” 
  • Has a burning desire to see musicians grow in the musical giftings God has given them.
  • Can help identify a “growth path” for every person on the team no matter their current skill set (beginner or professional).
  • Can create and communicate culture/vision around the importance of stewarding musical gifting.
  • Can lead worship from both an “MD role” and “Lead Vocals role.”
  • Has experience in developing musicians.
