Summary:
Central believes that a healthy, thriving children’s ministry is important to reaching and growing children and their families. Our church desires an individual who wants to take a growing children’s ministry to a new level of excellence. The Children’s Ministry Pastor (CMP) will lead our current children’s team and collaborate extensively with our Next Gen team, giving shape to an overall philosophy of developing the emerging generations to promote growing ownership in their faith and the local church.
The right candidate will have a focused and contagious passion for seeing kids and families come to know Jesus and follow him. This individual will also understand that volunteers are the lifeblood of children’s ministry. He or she will know how to work within a multilevel structure of volunteers and also how to implement new systems to help our volunteers flourish. The right candidate will be able to come alongside our great children’s ministry team to lead them humbly and to help develop the team’s strengths.
Central sees the extreme importance of this role and plans to support the right candidate significantly.
Time Commitment and Relationship:
This is a full-time ministry position that qualifies for benefits. The CMP will report to the Next Gen Lead, will work alongside and oversee the children’s ministry staff, and be a part of the Next Gen team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Exemplify a passion for seeing kids and their families come to know Jesus and follow him.
- Be the primary teacher on the weekend for our elementary students
- Create a contagious volunteer culture that people want to be a part of through various pieces of training, encouragement, and appreciation.
- Bring our children’s ministry to a new level of excellence through thoughtful strategy, oversight, and organization with our volunteers and programming.
- Align, equip, and inspire children’s ministry staff under a unified vision.
- Oversee children’s ministry staff through reviews, planning, and empowering them to use their gifts to serve the ministry well.
- Participate and give shape to our Next Gen team (birth to young adults) and our overall goal of reaching the emerging generations.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children and their parents in a children’s ministry, camp ministry, or educational setting
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in a church setting of 1000+ in weekly attendance
- Experience leading staff and multiple levels of volunteers
- High level of problem-solving abilities among families and volunteers
- Strong interpersonal skills with children and parents, as well as student and adult volunteers
- A high level of initiative and ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision
- Embrace and embody the mission, vision, and staff values of Central, faithfully attend service, and support it financially.
- Personal faith in Jesus Christ and agreement with Central’s Statement of Faith

Next Gen Production Associate
Next Gen Production Associate
Objective:
Act as the Next Gen Production Associate for Central Church Next Gen events and weekly programming, and assist in venue and room support. A team-minded and creative individual who models initiative is vital as they play a prominent role in our Production Team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Next Gen team by preparing media, brainstorming ideas, and designing worship environments.
- Take the initiative in tasks by supporting technical issues and maintaining quality.
- Lead a team of Next Gen production volunteers (6th grade- 12th grade) who strive to serve the Lord by using their gifts and talents.
- Be knowledgeable and learn the equipment used at Central Church to create worship environments.
- Work under leadership of the Production Director and collaborate with the Production Team on specific projects.
- Ensure systems are ready to go weekly and train others on the operation of Central’s systems.
- Support Sunday mornings and develop protocols for support for various Next Gen venues.
- Serve as the main Sunday morning point of contact for Oakwood Chapel worship.
- Support and act as the lead for Wednesday night youth programming and production.
- Bonus, but not required: Simple understanding of IT troubleshooting and basic networking knowledge.
