Behold

Celebrating a Biblical Christmas Demands Expectation | Christmas 2025

Jeff Wheeler | December 24, 2025

Sermon Description

When you look at the manger, what do you see? Christmas invites us into responding with expectation. To behold the promise that all things will be restored. Our Savior has come to destroy death, disease, and every form of darkness. What are you beholding this Christmas? Do you long with expectation for all that is to come in Christ Jesus?

Series Overview

The Scriptures summon the world to come and behold a wondrous, glorious display of God’s immeasurable love for the world. - R. Albert Mohler

Christmas exists because God came to save sinners through the birth of His Son, Jesus. Yet our culture often misses this reality, overshadowing the season with materialism, commercialization, and secular traditions.

But Scripture calls us to behold—to look with awe and wonder at God who took on flesh. In this series, we will return to the true meaning of Christmas by asking what the Biblical narrative demands of us: faith, worship, and expectation. If we’re going to share the love of Christ with our relational world, we must behold the right thing: Jesus Himself—the glory of God made visible.
