The South Dakota Right to Life organization will host its annual Life Chain event on Sunday, Oct. 2 from 2:00-3:00pm. The group will line up along the north sidewalk of W. 41st St., in front of Sketchers (located in the strip mall west of the river). Special Olympics SD is looking for volunteers for the Southeast Area Bowling tournament in Sioux Falls at Eastway Bowling on Saturday, Oct. 15. The tournament hosts 300+ athletes from Sioux Falls and the surrounding area and runs from 8:30am to roughly 4:30pm. The event is broken down into three volunteer shifts: 8:30-11:30am, 11:00am-2:00pm, and 1:30-4:30pm. These volunteers would be helping athletes on the lanes and recording scores. Special Olympics is encouraging people to help with two shifts.

Lights Up Productions presents Mystery, The Musical at the Sioux Falls Orpheum Theatre Sept. 9-11, 15, and 18. Mystery is a legendary, thrilling worldwide treasure hunt with answers to life’s most important questions.

Fall is right around the corner, which means Rake the Town (organized by Active Generations and Workers on Wheels) is coming soon. With nearly 400 elderly and disabled homeowners in the Sioux Falls area who need help raking their leaves in the fall, volunteers are a vital part of the helping those in need. Rake the Town will be on Friday, Oct. 28 or Saturday, Oct. 29. This year Rake the Town will be offered in Sioux Falls, Brandon, Tea, and Harrisburg, which means they’re hoping to have more volunteer teams. Registration will begin on Monday, Sept. 19, 2022. On Sunday, September 11, Clean Comedy for a Cause will present Tim Boyd Comedy. This event raises money for LaGonave, Haiti.
