We have not one, not two, but THREE great opportunities to serve in Pettigrew Heights.

The first is a new Downtown Tutoring Program that will run on Monday nights from 5:30-7:00pm. It will be a 1-to-1 tutoring opportunity that will provide adults with a chance to pour into the lives of elementary students, helping them build character, talk about Bible stories, and more. You can sign up at centralsf.org/helptutor.

The next opportunity is for people who can join us as needed as preschool assistant substitutes when members of our Downtown Preschool staff need to be gone for a day. This occurs at various times Monday through Friday between 9am-3pm. Substitutes come in and assist staff with preschool students ages 3-5 through the school day and it IS a paid position.

Finally, we’ll start our English classes again at the Downtown Campus in partnership with Reach Literacy. We’re looking for volunteers to help with childcare or assist with conversations and help the English teacher during the class time. These classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays starting mid-fall from either 10:00 to 11:30am OR 5:30 to 7:00pm at our Downtown Campus.

Contact Jessi Copeland at [email protected] if you’re interested in getting involved or have any questions. Your willingness to help will make a huge impact.
